The CORD Academy for Scholarship in Education has started a new CORD Coaching Program for EM Educators. This faculty coaching program will be a voluntary peer coaching program that consists of direct observation of your teaching/lecturing skills at national meetings followed by a formative feedback session. The program will be modeled after the University of Colorado's Academy of Medical Educators iTeach Program.
Trained coaches will be Distinguished Educators from CORD's Academy and, for now, participants must be a CORD Member. The Program will involve three elements:
The CORD Coaching Program will be offered at CORD, SAEM and ACEP each year, and is set to start at this year’s Scientific Assembly in Denver, Colorado. Space will be very limited given the limited number of Distinguished Educators within the Academy. However, as the Academy grows, we hope the program will too. Participants must be engaged in all aspects of the programs and make the time for all three meetings.
