Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board: CORD has provided an amazing foundation for my personal development as an educator and a member of this vibrant community of EM educators. I am honored to currently serve as Secretary-Treasurer for the Board of Directors after serving for three years as a Member-at-Large representing our programs. I am seeking the position of President-Elect to continue to give back to this community. Emergency Medicine is facing challenges to our specialty from many directions.

We, as the educators of the next generation, need to sitat the forefront of those discussions and interventions as we wrestle withchanges in student interest, increased regulation, stressors in the clinical environment, the impending launch of full competency-based medical education (CBME), among many other topics. Our organization is increasingly serving as atrailblazer and effective advocate. I would like to continue to build on this foundation. For example, CORD’s proactive response to the 2023 match by standing up a multi-organization taskforce even in advance of those results is an example of the collaborative and anticipatory approach I will advocate for. CORD has the opportunity to lead these conversations with our specialty. This will necessitate clear communication to engage our own stakeholders and other organizations. With our community, thoughtful risk-taking, and a commitment to data-driven decisions, I firmly believe that we can navigate these challenges toward a positive outcome. I look forward to serving all of you and continuingto develop this invaluable organization.
