Institution: Loma Linda University School of Medicine

Current Title: Medical Education Fellowship Director

Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board:It has always been a privilege to be a member of the CORD community, to find like-minded individuals dedicated to the pursuit of exemplary education and training for every level of emergency medicine learner, from students to faculty. My primary reason for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors as an At-Large Member is to be able to directly effect change for our membership. Emergency Medicine as a specialty is going through a period of change. I see this time as an opportunity for us to be able to re-define and augment many things that have been in place up until this point, such as student recruitment and retention. My background as a Clerkship Director and leadership roles within ASC-EM give me a solid foundation to be able to provide insight into the needs of our most junior learners. My involvement as core clinical faculty at the Loma Linda University EM Residency and as Medical Education Fellowship Director also give me the ability to see how the transition from the arena of the school of medicine to residency and then beyond is a single continuum that is complex and nuanced. It must be seen and evaluated as a whole instead of siloed into individual pieces. I hope to be able to use this breadth of exposure and experience to contribute to new CORD initiatives and to be able to advocate on behalf of the needs of our membership.

Previous CORD Experience: ASC-EM Member, Co Vice-Chair, current Co-Chair, Best Practices Committee Member, APIC Member, Medical Education Fellowship Comm of Practice Founding Member
