Welcome to July and a New Academic Year! This time each year brings a renewal of sorts for all of us as we get to know our new residents as well as establish our goals and objectives for the upcoming year.
As your Board, we wanted to give you an update and endorsement of the preliminary COPA guidelines concerning virtual interviews for this upcoming cycle.
This has led to much discussion among the Board, and we have decided to endorse the preliminary recommendation for an all-virtual interview season in an effort to provide an equal and fair process for programs and applicants.
We exist to support our programs and feel that this decision is best to both maximize the wellness of residency program leadership as well as balance the travel costs and time for students.
We know that many Institutions have already made this decision and of course there will be updates to follow that we will review accordingly.
