INCUMBENT CANDIDATE

Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board:

During my first term on the CORD Board of Directors, I have been deeply involved in guiding our specialty through the transition from ERAS to ResidencyCAS. As BOD liaison to the Application Process Improvement Committee (APIC), eSLOE Committee, and ResidencyCAS Advisory Council, I have helped ensure that CORD is a leader in shaping a fair, efficient, and innovative residency application process that benefits all stakeholders—students, programs, and the future of Emergency Medicine.

Recognizing the research potential created by ownership of emergency medicine’s application data through ResidencyCAS, I have been involved in the development of CORD’s Central Research Committee (CCRC).  The CRCC provides a collaborative infrastructure to promote rigorous, transparent, and high-impact scholarship using national application and eSLOE data.  The CCRC structure places the CORD BOD representative as Chair to ensure advancement of the organization’s leading research questions.  As the CCRC inaugural Chair, I have helped develop the mission and long term agenda for the committee, and would like to see this out until the end of my proposed 3 year term.

If given the opportunity for another term on the CORD BOD, I aim to expand the reach and productivity of the CCRC, enhance member engagement in multicenter educational research, and foster mentorship networks for emerging investigators. I will continue to advocate for data-driven decision making across all of CORD’s initiatives, ensuring that changes to advising, recruitment, and assessment are informed by evidence and aligned with our organizational mission.
