Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board: I am honored to submit my nomination for the CORD Board of Directors. CORD has been an integral part of my career and I am excited to give back to an organization I truly believe in and have witnessed its impact. As an educator and leader dedicated to advancing excellence in residency training and academic emergency medicine, I am committed to supporting CORD’s mission to promote innovation, collaboration, and professional development among program leaders and educators.
Throughout my career, I have worked to enhance resident education, foster inclusivity, and strengthen mentorship within our field. I have served in many roles, starting as assistant clerkship director to clerkship director at UCSF Fresno, mentoring 60-70 medical students from across the country for their sub-internship, then becoming assistant residency program director at UCSF Fresno and then associate residency program director at my current institution, Loma Linda University Medical Center. I believe that CORD serves a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of emergency physicians, and I am eager to contribute to that mission through strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and service to our community.
If elected, I will focus on advancing educational equity, supporting faculty development, and leveraging data-driven innovation to optimize residency training nationwide. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring my experience, energy, and commitment to the CORD Board of Directors and to serve our collective goal of improving emergency medicine education and leadership for the future.
