Reasons for wanting to join the CORD Board of Directors & Opinions and Priorities for the Board: During my time on the CORD Board, I would prioritize strengthening community, supporting programs through ongoing shifts in accreditation and healthcare systems, and advancing professional development opportunities for educators at all stages. As ACGME requirements evolve and the healthcare landscape continues to change—particularly around reimbursement models and clinical demands—we must be intentional and proactive in how we prepare our trainees to practice in this environment. CORD is uniquely positioned to lead this work by supporting residency leadership, sharing best practices across institutions, and fostering innovative solutions to common challenges.
My professional growth has been directly shaped by CORD. From presenting my first scholarly work as a chief resident to actively participating in the APD Community of Practice, Remediation Committee, and the Medical Education Fellowship Community of Practice, I have experienced firsthand how mentorship, shared scholarship, and community can shape careers and strengthen programs. I would use my time on the Board to preserve and expand these opportunities—ensuring emerging educators have access to the same mentorship, collaboration, and support that guided my development.
I would focus on supporting initiatives that:
• Strengthen cross-institution collaboration and problem-solving.
• Expand mentorship pipelines for future leaders.
• Promote innovation and adaptability in curriculum design and assessment.
• Ensure CORD remains agile, responsive, and inclusive.
My goal is to help sustain CORD as the professional home where EM educators connect, grow, and lead together.
