From Mission to Momentum: Championing DEI in a Changing Educational Landscape

This conference aims to redefine DEI in our current climate and share strategies to advance these values within our communities. We invite Program Directors, Program Coordinators, Residency Program Leadership, Core Faculty, and other DEI advocates to participate. 

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine. The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American College of Emergency Physicians designates this Live activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Objectives:  By the end of this virtual conference, participants will be able to: 

  1. Utilize evidence-based practices to promote DEI in graduate medical education
  2. Understand the current climate surrounding DEI in national politics and medical education
  3. Develop a strategy for navigating barriers to advancement of DEI initiatives
  4. Identify and implement physical and virtual spaces that reflect an inclusive environment for learners
  5. Create actionable steps to move towards reflecting their program’s commitment to belonging and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
