DIO Community of Practice

Current Chair: Samuel Luber, MD
Vice Chair: Shaza Aouthmany, MD
Board Liaison: Jessica Smith, MD

This community of practice (COP) was created as a forum for CORD members that hold a position as Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) or Assistant Dean of GME at their institutions. By establishing this COP, members will be able to share ideas and learn about best practices for GME leadership. The DIO COP will also focus on educating the CORD membership about GME funding.

The DIO COP will benefit CORD by establishing a forum for CORD members who have become DIOs, Associate or Assistant Dean for GME. This COP will provide an opportunity for these CORD members to stay engaged and connected to the organization. These specific members can provide a unique perspective on how to advance emergency medicine education at the GME level. They can also be a resource for other CORD members in regard to career planning and faculty development.

For inquiries, questions, or comments about the committee, please send an e-mail to CORD staff.
