ResidencyCAS Update from the CORD Board of Directors

Dear CORD Community,

Over the past year, Emergency Medicine successfully completed its first application cycle utilizing ResidencyCAS. As the CORD Board of Directors reflects on this transition and reviews feedback from applicants, advisors, coordinators, and program leadership, we would like to share our continued support for the use of ResidencyCAS for the upcoming application season.

Our transition to ResidencyCAS was guided by the specialty’s “Four Whys”:

• Improving the applicant experience

• Reducing burden on programs

• Allowing specialty-specific customization and innovation

• Increased access to specialty-owned data

We believe ResidencyCAS has advanced all of these goals in meaningful ways. The platform significantly reduced applicant costs, resulting in nearly $780,000 in collective savings this cycle. ResidencyCAS has also allowed Emergency Medicine greater control over the application process, interview workflows, and the data needed to guide future improvements inrecruitment and advising.

While the first year included some operational challenges, the overall feedback from applicants and programs was very positive, and many enhancements are either already completed or currently underway in response to community input.

The Board remains committed to supporting an application process that prioritizes applicants, empowers programs, and allows Emergency Medicine to shape the future of its own recruitment process.

We appreciate the engagement and partnership of the CORD community throughout this transition and look forward to continued collaboration in the coming season.

Sincerely,

CORD Board of Directors
