EMARC Program Coordinator Mentor Program


Mentor Requirements & Expectations. To serve as a mentor, a PC must: 
1. Have served as a Program Coordinator for >1 year. 
2. Be willing to commit to a mentee for 12 months, upon being paired. 
3. Be able to dedicate up to 7 hours over the course of 12 months. 
4. Demonstrate enthusiasm for graduate medical education and the PC role. 
5. Demonstrate consistent ability to meet GME & ACGME deadlines. 
6. Be knowledgeable and skilled at utilizing resources. 

Expectations
1. Complete the program intake form.

*Should you no longer want a mentor or be a mentor, please edit your submission or email the Membership and Mentorship Committee chair.


Initial meeting topic list.
3. Schedule an initial virtual meeting with your mentee. 
4. Consider facetime/skype/etc. 
5. Take you & your mentee’s program intake forms and the initial meeting topic list along as resources.
6. Introduce your mentee on the Facebook, Instagram, and EMARC Community. 
7. Come prepared with information about their educational and professional background, as well as 3 fun facts. 
8. Reach out to your mentee monthly (a quick phone call, email, or chat.)
