Following the approval of the revised 2028 Emergency Medicine Program Requirements, the ACGME has released the Key Index Procedure resources to support programs as they prepare for implementation.
These resources provide additional guidance on the procedural expectations outlined in the new requirements and are intended to help residency programs better understand documentation, assessment, and resident competency expectations related to Key Index Procedures.
We encourage program leaders, faculty, and educators to review these materials as they begin planning for the transition to the 2028 requirements.
